Just a slight kick in the swell but the good news is that there is more on the way as the swell is rising to the south. Currently we a .75m local swell and 10 knot SE winds which are not predicted to get any lighter. Waves at Back Beach are average at around waist height on the sets. Better to wait to see if this swell arrives this afternoon. Tide is sitting around .4m all day. Air temp should get up to 21 and the water is 18.5. Saturday is looking better with more swell on offer while Sunday is the best weekend day for winds. Next new swell builds through Tuesday and Wednesday . Thursday is the start of the Sunshine Surfmasters with the WQS event hitting the water. Long range forecast is ideal fro the event with decent swell and light winds. The age divisions get under way with the Opens, Seniors, Juniors and Non-competitors divisions on the Friday if all goes to plan. The rest compete on the Saturday including the Expression Session.
